Raphaela Felder is a lyric soprano from Switzerland.
Her artistic career began early on the musical stage with leading roles in Cats (Grizabella) and West Side Story (Anita). She also gained her first stage experience on the operetta stage in Entlebuch.
She received her classical vocal training from Professor Barbara Locher, who continues to provide her with vocal coaching. In addition, she regularly attends international masterclasses, including those with Malcolm Walker (formerly a professor at the Paris Conservatoire), and takes private lessons in Paris and Luxembourg.
At the Swiss Opera Studio in Biel, she furthered her studies in the minor field of musical theatre under the direction of Matthias Behrends, Franco Trinca, Stephan Sabrowski, and Anna Magdalena Fitzi, with a particular focus on acting and role study. She received further stylistic inspiration in jazz from Katja Mair and in pop/belting from Jasmin Schmid.
As a scholarship recipient of the Melinda Esterházy de Galantha Foundation, she received support for two years. In 2020, she won the sponsorship prize of the Marianne and Curt Dienemann Foundation Lucerne song competition, and in 2022 she received the cultural prize of the Lions Club Entlebuch-Wolhusen.
Engagements have taken her to venues including the Sursee Municipal Theatre, where she performed as Arsena in Strauss's *The Gypsy Baron* and as Princess Rosemarie in Kálmán's *The Duchess of Chicago*. In addition to opera and operetta, she is also deeply involved in the song and concert repertoire.
Artistic initiatives and interdisciplinary projects form another focus of her work. She develops her own formats, designs programs, and combines music with text, illustration, and educational outreach.
Internationally, she performed at the Perugia Music Festival (Italy) in 2024 under the direction of Eitan Globerson with the Viva Brunensis Orchestra. In 2025, she received a concert invitation to Seoul, South Korea. In January 2026, she participated in an international masterclass with Jennifer Larmore in Paris.
In addition to her musical career, Raphaela Felder is deeply involved in martial arts, particularly Balintawak. In 2025, she won gold and silver in two disciplines at the German Championships. Her exploration of movement, body awareness, and mental presence also informs her artistic work.
